Waiting (self portrait)

Artist Statement

I present myself posing before my audience in my favourite dress, holding a posey of my favourite flowers. My attention has been drawn away; I’m restless but searching.

As a young artist, I’ve found it difficult to settle on my own style and pinpoint where I want to place myself in the art world. The artists around me have found direction and purpose, whilst I continue to search.

A petal falls, signifying the world keeps moving around me, whilst I remain stuck in this moment. I have the time to find my direction but I’m impatient. I want the answers. So I sit here waiting for them.
